St. Patrick’s Day Gold Coin Cookies

As March is upon us, it’s time to go searching for that pot of gold. No need to look too far – you can create your own pot of golden coins with this simple DIY.

Items Needed: 1 bag of White Chocolate Melts | 2 Food Gel Colors in Green and Gold | Toothpick or Bamboo Skewer | Parchment Paper | 1 Glass Bowl | Golden Oreos | 1 Tablespoon | Optional: Lemon Extract

Step 1: Lay out a sheet of parchment paper and lay out Oreos on sheet.

Step 2: If using a microwave, melt entire bag of White Chocolate Melts in Glass Bowl being sure to stir every 30 seconds until all chocolate has melted and is smooth. Spoon 3-5 tablespoon(s) of water to thin out chocolate. Continue to fold and stir chocolate until it is a smooth batter-like consistency.

Step 3: Squeeze one drop of gel colors into bowl and begin to swirl both using a “figure 8” method using a toothpick or bamboo skewer.

Step 4: Dip golden Oreos (once) into swirl mixture and lay flat on parchment paper to encourage the chocolate to harden. Need to move faster? Place in the fridge to speed up the hardening process.

Optional: Add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract to melted chocolate to it a lemon-y kick.

Step 5: Wear some green so you don’t get pinched and hand out these tasty golden chocolate coins to everyone looking for a pot of gold. Enjoy!
