Toast to Fruity Margaritas – National Margarita Day with Chuy’s Tex Mex and Twirl Cotton

One of Texas’ favorite non formal holidays has to be National Margarita Day. It seems like we have as many Tex-Mex restaurants as we have people. Okay that’s an exaggeration but we take our Tex Mex food serious and our Margaritas even more serious.

One of my favorite Tex Mex restaurants that has a great variety of margaritas happens to be Chuy’s Tex Mex. They are gearing up with drink specials all day and you don’t want to miss out. Check out three of their colorful drinks that are the top of my “To Sip” list.

For a limited time only you can get the Frozen Blackberry Rita made with Exotico 100% Agave Silver Tequila. This margarita is the perfect blend of fruity and sweetness.

Now don’t get me wrong I love a good margarita with a sugar rim…yes, I’m a sugar girl but I figured why not add one of my favorite things ever….Twirl Cotton Candy! Let me just tell you all, this was the BEST decision I have ever made. I topped the blackberry margarita with Lime Twirl Cotton Candy and the next issue we ran into was many guests constantly asking what the name of this margarita was and how do they get one.

Now only if I can figure out a way to get connected with Chuy’s corporate to come up with some custom margarita flavors and toppings – I have ideas!

If you like to keep things classic, they have The Perfect Margarita with Pátron Silver tequila and Pátron Citrónge Orange. Ask them to make it a deluxe (wink wink) because you deserve it.

Y’all know I couldn’t let this margarita pass without adding a topper to it. The Cherry Twirl Topper was the perfect addition to this mix…it tasted like a Spiked Cherry Limeade.

Last but not least, if you want to bring in the spring and summer – The Frozen Strawberry Margarita. This may have been my favorite but I do love most if not all Strawberry flavored drinks.

Y’all know I wasn’t going to let this Margarita pass without adding some of my favorite Twirl Cotton Candy. I will wholeheartedly admit this was my absolute favorite mixture. The Lemon Drop Sour Cotton Candy mixed with the frozen margarita didn’t stand a chance. The perfect mix of sweet and sour and not to mention my love of bright colors was completely fulfilled while watching the cotton candy melt into the sweet drink.

Worst case scenario is you can’t make it out to Chuy’s for National Margarita Day, try your hand at some of my approved margaritas sure to be a crowd pleaser.
